Lists full records of 2,272 Canadian grantmaking foundations and more than 150 American foundations with a history of grantmaking in Canada. In addition there are over 500 partial records of others which are either defunct or restrict their giving to a few specified charities. Information can be accessed by location, funding interests, recipient location, subjects of prior grants awarded, name, recipient name, and more.

The Foundation Directory lists the top 10,000 private (independent, company-sponsored and active operating) and community foundation grantmakers in terms of awards made in the latest fiscal year of record. Arranged alphabetically by state, the directory is indexed by donors, officers & trustees, location, types of support, subject, international interest, and foundation name.

The Foundation Directory Part 2 is designed as a companion volume to the Foundation Directory, which reports on foundations that were among the top 10,000 in terms of awards made in the latest fiscal year of record. Part 2 describes the next 10,000 largest private (independent, company-sponsored and active operating) and community foundations by total giving. Of these, 51.6% include lists of selected grants. Contents of this volume are arranged by state, with subject, geographic, and key foundation personnel indexes among others.

Provides in-depth profiles and analyses of America's over 1,000 of the largest private foundations as well as biographical data on the people who make foundation grant decisions. To be included, foundations must have either $10 million in assets or $500,000 on record in charitable giving annually. Entries include a contribution analysis, list of typical recipients , foundation history and philosophy, and more. Extensive application information. Includes 13 indexes by state, type of support, recipient types of over 200 categorized nonprofit causes, and deadlines.

Alphabetically arranged by foundation name. Lists over 1184 active grantmaking foundations in Wisconsin. Information is based on IRS 990-PF tax returns and the foundations themselves. Includes a listing of un-profiled foundations such as those which have moved, terminated, or become inactive. Indexed by area of interest, county, and officer.

A directory of 200 funders particularly for progressive organizations looking for grantmakers. Includes general articles on fundraising and grantseeking and a list of online resources for funders & grantseekers. Indexed according to 37 categories of issues as well as target population and geographic limitations. The NNG is a nonprofit organization involved in funding social and economic justice.

Provides profiles of 389 out of a listing of 1,248 active Minnesota grantmakers. Indexed by categories such as geographic focus, types of support, intended beneficiaries, and more.

Guide to U.S. Foundations, Their Trustees, Officers, and Donors. Edited by David G. Jacobs. New York: The Foundation Center in 3 pts. (GIC: HV/97/A3/F55) Available electronically in FD Online.

Lists 66,996 grantmaking foundations giving more than $1 per fiscal reporting period. Offers brief financial data for each entry, with cross-references to additional information available in other Foundation Center publications. A good single source for finding addresses of small foundations. Arranged by state, within which foundations are listed in descending order by total grants paid, with indexes by name in the third part. No subject access. A bibliography of local and state foundation directories is included. Functions also as an index to other FC print publications.

International Foundation Directory. Edited by Cathy Hartley. London: Europa Publications Ltd. (GIC: HV7/I57)

An index of more than 2,300 international and widely influential national foundations. Arranged by country. Includes both grantmaking and non-grantmaking NGOs and charities. Prefatory essays on foundations may be of interest. Indexed by name, activities, and regions. Also uniquely provides details on foundation centers and coordinating bodies.

A directory of over 1300 grants for operating expenses of nonprofits and other institutions. Includes funders from private, public, nonprofit and for-profit sectors, federal and state organizations, corporations, and others. Operating costs may include overhead, salary support, administration, utilities, and other ongoing expenses of an organization: personnel, administrative and other operating costs.

Provides detailed analyses of 181 of the largest company-sponsored foundations already profiled in the 2001/2002 ed. of The Foundation 1000, but with some updated material. There is a Part II of this book which lists information on 1,312 company-sponsored foundations with annual giving of $66,000 or more based on 1998-2001 records. Direct corporate giving or company contributions programs, which are different from programs of company-sponsored foundations, are not included. There are a total of 2,100 company-sponsored foundations currently in operation.

Contains descriptive profiles of over 1,000 of the largest corporate charitable giving programs in the U.S. Each company profiled makes contributions of at least $200,000 annually. Twenty-one percent of these profiles include direct-giving programs. Corporations are indexed by state headquarters, type of grant (including non-monetary), type of recipient, operating location, and sponsoring company. Also includes biographical indexes to officers and directors by name, place of birth, alma mater, and affiliations.

Provides brief and essential data on 3,535 companies "making contributions to nonprofit organizations." Of these, 1,468 are direct corporate giving programs. All entries are verified by the corporations themselves or compiled from "reliable public records." Indexed by names of officers, donors and trustees, geographic location, types of support, subject areas, types of business, and more.
